OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY
A commitment to the future of our planet is behind every decision we make. Transparency is a key and vital element in reshaping the fashion industry and BLYNC LDN therefore strives to be as open and honest as possible. As a result, you can trust that when we say that sustainability is a top priority of ours, we really mean it.
We are a strong advocate of creating clothes that are going to last. Fast fashion is having a huge detrimental effect on the environment and our planet with barely worn clothes ending up in landfill and taking decades to be broken down. Our clothes have been designed to be timeless, they will never go out of style and they have been produced to the highest quality. You can guarantee that your investment in BLYNC LDN products, and in turn, our planet, will ensure you have clothes that not only look stylish but will keep on going and going.
OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
Our products have all been designed in the UK by a British designer. Our fabrics are then produced using either ECONYL® regenerated nylon or 100% recycled plastic bottles in Italy. Our final products are then created in Portugal. Our aim has always been to keep our supply chain as local as possible whilst ensuring we never compromise on quality.
Fabrics
Our garments are made using the following core fibres:
1) ECONYL® regenerated nylon is used in 90% of our products
Nylon waste is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again, forever. That means you can create new products without ever having to use new resources or create waste.
The ECONYL® creation is a four step process:
• RESCUE
The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.
• REGENERATE
Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as fossil-based nylon.
• REMAKE
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion and interior industries.
• REIMAGINE
Fashion brands and carpet producers use ECONYL® regenerated nylon to create brand new products. And that nylon has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality. The goal is that once all products containing ECONYL® are no longer useful to customers, they go back into step one of the Regeneration System.
2) 100% recycled plastic bottles
Plastic bottles are collected, sorted and shredded into flakes. These smaller pieces are washed, dried and melted into tiny pellets which can then be extruded and spun into a soft yarn. This yarn is then woven into the fabric used in our patterned bra and leggings.
FACTORIES
Both these fibres are then used by our factories to create our fabrics.
We work with state-of-the-art factories who have a keen focus on sustainability. We ensure our factories only produce materials of high quality and who ensure that the environment is taken into consideration at every stage of the production process. THE FUTURE
As technology and our understanding of our effects on the planet grow, new and innovative production processes and materials emerge.
We strive to stay updated with technology but our ability to do so is limited by the size of our company. As we expand, we’ll continue to be devoted to making sure we keep up with the always evolving processes and materials to guarantee we’ll always be as sustainable as possible.
